Destination wedding

Andrew & Sara fell in love with Umbria at first sight and chose the green heart of Italy for their most beautiful day. They wanted to share this story with friends, family and above all with their children. Their marriage was very special for me as their celebrant and interpreter. In fact, the spouses have chosen to celebrate their union twice: with a symbolic ceremony first and a civil ceremony afterwards.

Exciting and original

Symbolic ceremony

Yes I do…

On a hot summer afternoon

In the romantic context of the garden of a historic Villa, the spouses have decided to set their symbolic ceremony, in the presence of a beautiful audience made of affections. A simple table and a wedding arch adorned with laurel and white roses as a frame for their “yes I Do”. The groom, who arrived early as tradition dictates, wore a checkered kilt in shades of green and blue with the metallic emblem on his belt, a symbol of belonging to the Clan Muir, while the bride, anticipated by the procession of her bridesmaids, caught everyone’s eye for her beauty and elegance in white lace and veil.

The ceremony had a brief duration, but it was intense and I celebrated it according to the indications of the spouses, with the reading of a modern version of the ‘Seven blessings’, a typical reading that is done in a Jewish wedding as from the bride’s origin.

Intimacy and family

Civil ceremony

The previous day I accompanied the newlyweds to the Municipality of Panicale to take care of bureaucratic procedures so that the ceremony had legal value. For the Civil Ceremony I was interpreter of the Mayor who united in marriage Andrew and Sara before the law and in the presence of the mothers of the spouses as witnesses, in their colorful British style clothes.

A beautiful wedding procession

It is well known that people from United Kingdom love our region. It was nice to see them endure the heat, in their shiny, elegant and colorful clothes. At the end of the symbolic ceremony, the only one in which all the guests took part, there was a beautiful wedding procession crossed by the spouses under a shower of rice.

Natural and fairytale
Page boy and flower girls

When the kids have a nice role in the ceremony

One of the notes of color and emotion of this marriage was the children, very elegant and nice. The page boy, dressed in harmony with his father (the groom), was the ring bearer, while the girls were perfect bridesmaids.

When you like a flower, you simply pick it. But when you love a flower, you water it every day.
